Uttarakhand Helicopter Crash: A helicopter that went missing in Gaurikund has been confirmed to have crashed, according to Dr. V Murugeshan, the Uttarakhand ADG of Law and Order, on Sunday. There were six individuals aboard the helicopter, and all are presumed dead. Earlier reports indicated that the helicopter, which was traveling from Dehradun to Kedarnath, lost contact around 7:44 AM. The last known location of the helicopter was between Trijuginarayan and Gaurikund.

It is believed that adverse weather conditions caused the helicopter, which departed at 5 AM with six people, including the pilot, to crash. So far, five fatalities have been reported.

The Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) has issued a statement regarding the crash, confirming that rescue teams have been deployed to the site.

"At approximately 5:20 AM, a helicopter traveling from Shri Kedarnath Dham to Guptkashi was reported to have crashed near Gaurikund. The aircraft had six passengers, including the pilot (five adults and one child). The passengers hailed from Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Gujarat. In response to the incident, NDRF and SDRF teams have been dispatched for rescue efforts," the statement read.

IG Garhwal Rajiv Swaroop stated, "The helicopter that crashed had taken off for Gaurikund after transporting devotees to Kedarnath. There were seven individuals on board. The crash site is in a very remote area, and police along with SDRF teams have been dispatched to the location."

Uttarakhand's Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his sorrow over the tragic event and offered prayers for the safety of all travelers involved. He noted that SDRF, local authorities, and other rescue teams are actively working on relief operations.
