Incident Overview

In a heartbreaking incident in Badaun district, a four-year-old boy lost his life due to suspected gas leakage from a geyser, while his 11-year-old brother was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. This unfortunate event occurred on Friday in a neighborhood within the Kotwali Sadar area.

According to police reports, the incident took place in Mohalla Shahwajpur, near the outer area of Rai Sahib's Dharmshala, where Mohammad Salim operates a factory and resides with his family.

The police detailed that around 2 PM on Friday, Salim's sons, Ayaan (11) and Ryan (4), entered the bathroom equipped with a gas geyser for their bath. After a considerable amount of time had passed without any sign of the children, Salim's wife, Rukhsar, knocked on the door but received no response.

As Rukhsar began to panic and scream, Salim arrived at the scene, drawing the attention of nearby residents. Together, they managed to break down the door, only to find both boys unconscious inside.

Authorities reported that the children were immediately taken to the district hospital, where Ryan unfortunately succumbed to his condition during treatment. Ayaan, on the other hand, was transferred to a facility in Bareilly due to the severity of his injuries. Inspector Sanjay Singh from Kotwali Sadar confirmed that the four-year-old's death was a result of asphyxiation caused by the gas geyser.
