Fire Breaks Out at ILGIM Factory in Greater Noida
A tragic incident unfolded late Monday night in the industrial area of Ecotech-3, Greater Noida, where a severe fire erupted at the ILGIM company, known for manufacturing electronic chips. During the firefighting efforts, a wall and an iron beam collapsed, resulting in the heartbreaking deaths of two firefighters, while three others sustained serious injuries, as reported by a police spokesperson on Tuesday.
According to police, the fire broke out at the ILGIM facility in the Ecotech-3 industrial zone late Monday night.
Emergency Response and Casualties
Upon receiving the fire alert, at least six fire engines rushed to the scene to combat the blaze. The police spokesperson indicated that while battling the fire, a wall and an iron beam unexpectedly fell, injuring five firefighters severely. All injured personnel were promptly transported to a hospital, where firefighters Rohit Yadav and Tirathpal Singh succumbed to their injuries during treatment.
The spokesperson further mentioned that the condition of the injured firefighters Rajpal Singh, Manish Kumar, and Amit Kumar is stable, and they are currently receiving medical care. Senior police officials and a team from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are present at the site. Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing, and necessary legal actions are being taken.
