Fire Incident in Noida's Mamura Area

On Wednesday, a fire broke out while charging an electric scooter battery in the Mamura locality of Noida, resulting in the deaths of two individuals. The blaze spread throughout a building located in Mamura village, which falls under the jurisdiction of Sector 66 and Phase-3 police stations. Preliminary investigations indicate that a short circuit in the charging battery ignited sparks that set fire to vehicles parked on the ground floor. The flames rapidly engulfed the entire structure, causing thick smoke to rise, trapping residents inside the G+4 building, which was being used as a paying guest accommodation housing around 50 families.

Emergency Response and Rescue Operations

Upon receiving reports of the incident, fire department teams promptly arrived at the scene to initiate rescue operations. Firefighters successfully evacuated trapped individuals and managed to control the fire. A total of seven fire tenders, hydraulic platforms, and rescue vehicles were deployed to extinguish the flames and assist in the evacuation. According to reports, all residents were rescued safely, and the fire was eventually brought under control.

Details from Local Authorities

Rajeev Narayan, Joint Commissioner of Police for Gautam Buddha Nagar, stated that the building's parking area was located on the ground floor rather than in the basement. Smoke emanating from the parking area quickly spread to the upper floors, affecting the residents. Narayan confirmed that the fire service acted swiftly upon receiving the report of the fire in Mamura village, successfully evacuating approximately 50 families. However, due to smoke inhalation, two individuals suffered severe health issues and were admitted to the district hospital.
