Tragic Fire in Bhadrak: Seven Injured in Cracker Manufacturing Unit Blaze

Bhadrak: On Tuesday, a fire erupted at a firecracker manufacturing facility in Odisha's Bhadrak district, resulting in injuries to at least seven individuals, including four women and a young boy, according to police reports.
The blaze occurred at the Haladiha bypass along Chandbali Road, falling under the Bhadrak Rural police jurisdiction.
Among the seriously injured are four women and a boy, as confirmed by law enforcement.
The injured have been identified as Ranjita Jena (24) from Kajimahal, Sultana Bibi (45), Rato Bibi (40), Arzifa Khatoon (20), and SK Musaraf (12), all residents of Haldiha Bypass within the Puruna Bazar police limits.
Initially, the five critically injured individuals were treated at the Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital, but due to worsening conditions, they were later transferred to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, as stated by Dr. Sudhanshu Sekhar Bal, the Chief District Medical Officer of Bhadrak.
Two additional individuals who sustained injuries were treated and subsequently discharged from the hospital, according to the CDMO.
Witnesses reported hearing a loud explosion from the firecracker unit, which was quickly reduced to debris.
The fire spread swiftly, consuming the structure in mere minutes, as per eyewitness accounts.
Firefighters arrived promptly and were able to control the fire.
Local residents also played a crucial role in assisting with the transportation of the injured to medical facilities, as noted by police.
An investigation has been launched to ascertain the cause of this fire incident, according to Dayanidhi Das, the Inspector-in-Charge of Bhadrak Rural police station.
