Tragic Fire Devastates Family Home in Chamba Village
Fire Incident in Bharni Village
A catastrophic fire erupted in Bharni village, located within the Gram Panchayat Charra of the Churah subdivision, late Tuesday night. The blaze completely destroyed a joint residence shared by four brothers: Murid, Sefu, Maradu, and Juri, who are the sons of Sabho, the widow of the late Jumu.
Fortunately, there were no casualties as the family was away during the incident. However, the financial impact is significant. The family disclosed that gold jewelry valued at approximately ₹2.5 lakh and cash ranging from ₹5 to 6 lakh were lost in the fire, along with their household items.
The flames spread quickly, and due to the village's remote location—about 6 to 7 kilometers from the nearest road—fire brigade vehicles were unable to reach the scene in time. Local residents rushed to help extinguish the fire.
The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation. Both the villagers and the affected family have called on local authorities to provide sufficient compensation to assist them in recovering from this devastating event.
