Tragic Fire Claims Six Lives in Himachal Pradesh: What Happened?
Devastating Fire in Sirmaur District
Shimla: A tragic incident unfolded early Thursday morning in Talagna village, Sirmaur district, Himachal Pradesh, where a fire engulfed a home, resulting in the deaths of six family members, according to police reports.
The fire broke out around 2 a.m. at the residence of Mohan Singh, leaving little time for the occupants to escape.
Among the deceased are Naresh, his wife Tripta, their relative Kavita, and three children: Sarika, Kritika, and Kritik.
Officials noted that the bodies were severely charred, making identification challenging.
The only survivor, Lokender, who is Kavita's husband, was rescued by local villagers and is currently hospitalized in Solan in critical condition.
Initial investigations suggest that a short circuit may have sparked the fire, which was exacerbated by an LPG cylinder explosion, completely destroying the house. Tragically, livestock also perished in the blaze.
This incident marks the second fire tragedy in the state within the week; a previous fire in Arki town's old bus stand area resulted in ten fatalities.
Authorities are still searching for missing individuals, and DNA profiling is being conducted to confirm the identities of the victims.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the main opposition party, has expressed deep sorrow over the incident.
BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda, along with other party leaders, has conveyed their condolences and prayers for the victims' families.
In a statement, BJP's State President Bindal remarked, 'The news of this tragic fire in the Nohradhar area of Sirmaur is extremely painful. The untimely loss of six family members is a profound shock for the entire state. We pray for peace for the departed souls and strength for the grieving family.'
The BJP has called on the district administration to provide immediate assistance, compensation, and rehabilitation support for the affected family during this difficult time.
