Devastating Incident in Meerut

A shocking incident has emerged from Meerut district in western Uttar Pradesh. On Monday night, a severe fire broke out in a residential building located in the Kidwai Nagar area, resulting in the tragic deaths of six individuals, including five children. The intensity of the blaze was such that those inside had no chance to escape.


According to police reports, one woman suffered serious burns and is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital.


Details of the Incident

Superintendent of Police (Meerut) Avinash Pandey informed reporters at the civil hospital that the fire incident occurred around 8 PM in the Kidwai Nagar locality. He stated that the fire was reported at 8:49 PM, prompting immediate response from police and fire department teams who worked to extinguish the flames.


The police indicated that the house was used for tailoring, containing a large quantity of fabric, which likely contributed to the rapid spread of the fire. Initial investigations suggest that a short circuit may have caused the blaze, and a thorough inquiry is underway.


The Superintendent mentioned that seven individuals suffered burns and were admitted to the hospital, but unfortunately, six of them were later declared dead by medical staff.


Identities of the Victims

Authorities have identified the deceased as Ruksar (25), Mahbish (12), Hammad (4), Akdas (4), Nabia (4 months), and Inayat (4 months), all residents of Street Number Three near the Surahi Wali Mosque in Kidwai Nagar. The injured, identified as Ameer Bano (55), is currently undergoing treatment, and investigations into the incident are ongoing.
