Fire Incident in New Delhi

On March 18, a devastating fire erupted in a multi-storey building located in the Palam area of New Delhi, resulting in the deaths of at least seven individuals, including three children. Two more people sustained injuries during the incident, and there are concerns that others may still be trapped inside the structure.

Firefighters responded promptly to the emergency call, deploying approximately 25 fire engines to the scene. A large-scale rescue operation is currently in progress, focusing on extinguishing the flames and locating any remaining occupants.

As of now, officials have confirmed the fatalities, and two individuals were injured after jumping from the building in an attempt to escape the fire. They have been transported to a local hospital for medical care.

Initial reports indicate that the building features a basement, ground floor, and four additional stories, with a temporary tin shed on the roof. The lower levels were primarily used for storing clothing and cosmetics, while the upper floors served as living quarters.

Delhi Police have also arrived at the scene to secure the area and facilitate the ongoing rescue efforts. A Centralised Accident and Trauma Services (CATS) ambulance, along with a medical team, is on standby to provide immediate assistance to the injured.

Another Fire Incident in Madhya Pradesh

In a separate incident earlier the same day, a fire in a three-storey house in the Tilak Nagar area of Indore, Madhya Pradesh, resulted in the deaths of six people. The blaze broke out in the early morning hours, catching residents by surprise and quickly spreading throughout the building.

The house, owned by a businessman named Manoj, reportedly had an electric vehicle charging outside, which is suspected to have caused the fire due to a short circuit. The flames rapidly engulfed the entire structure, leaving little time for the occupants to escape.

Indore Collector Shivam Verma confirmed the tragic loss of life, stating that over ten individuals were inside the house at the time. While three people were rescued, six others tragically could not be saved.
