Tragic Farewell: Community Mourns Police Constable and Family Victims of Accident
A Heartbreaking Scene at the Ravi River
In a poignant moment at the Gehra cremation ground along the Ravi River in the Bharmour constituency, four funeral pyres were lit, including that of police constable Ripan Rana, who received a dignified farewell with full state honors from his colleagues.
The atmosphere was thick with sorrow as thousands of family members, villagers, and mourners gathered to pay their respects. The fallen officer's coffin, draped in the national flag, was carried from his residence, accompanied by chants of “Bharat Mata ki Jai.”
Tragedy struck just two days prior when a horrific car accident resulted in the deaths of five family members, including a young child. They were en route from Chandigarh to their ancestral village, Gehra, when the incident occurred.
Police personnel stood in respectful silence, saluting their fallen comrade. The community was left in shock, mourning the sudden loss of a once-vibrant family.
As tears flowed and prayers echoed, attendees consoled the grieving relatives, seeking peace for the departed souls and strength for the family to cope with this profound tragedy.
