Tragic Family Incident in Surat: A Heartbreaking Tale of Loss

On February 24, at around 11 AM, a tragic event unfolded in the Vesu area of Surat, Gujarat. The Khaitan family was at the center of a shocking incident when Bal Mukund Khaitan, also known as Bittu, along with his wife Priyanka, administered poison to their two young daughters, aged 9 and 7, before consuming it themselves. As their health deteriorated, Priyanka called her father, Sanjay Agarwal, stating that her husband had lost consciousness and urged him to come home.

Upon receiving the distress call, Sanjay instructed his wife Anita to rush to Priyanka's residence. When they arrived at Happy Elegance Apartment, they were met with a horrifying scene. The couple's 7-year-old daughter, Parthivi, was outside, surrounded by concerned neighbors. Inside, they discovered Bal Mukund's lifeless body, while Priyanka and their 9-year-old daughter, Bhavya, were unconscious. Parthivi was also in distress, experiencing severe vomiting.

All family members were quickly transported to the hospital. Tragically, by the following morning, both Priyanka and Bhavya had passed away, while Parthivi remained in critical condition and was receiving medical attention. The police were alerted, and the bodies were sent for autopsy.

Suicide Note Reveals Disturbing Circumstances

Authorities discovered a three-page suicide note written by Priyanka, detailing her family's struggles with a moneylender named Vaibhav Rungta. The note described how he had been harassing them for repayment of loans, subjecting them to mental torture. He had seized their moped and misused their credit card, racking up expenses of 1.59 lakh. The family, overwhelmed by these pressures, chose to end their lives. The suspect remains at large, and police believe that the full story will emerge only after his arrest.

Parthivi's Narrow Escape

Reports indicate that 7-year-old Parthivi survived due to her vomiting, which prompted her to open the door and alert neighbors. Following this tragic incident, she has been left orphaned, having lost both parents and her older sister. Parthivi recounted that her mother had given her and her sister something to drink before they fell ill, suggesting that it may have been the poison referenced in the suicide note found by the police.
