Tragic Family Dispute Leads to Fatal Stabbing in Bareilly
Shocking Incident in Bareilly District
A deeply disturbing incident has emerged from Bareilly district in Uttar Pradesh, where a woman allegedly stabbed her nephew, resulting in his death. The motive behind this tragic act appears to be a long-standing dispute over ancestral land.
The victim, 28-year-old Umakant, had been embroiled in a conflict regarding the division of family property with his uncle Charan Pal and aunt Anita Devi. Reports indicate that a heated argument occurred on Saturday morning between Anita and Umakant's family, although he was not present at the time as he was working at a local factory.
Upon returning home that evening, Umakant encountered his aunt standing at her doorstep. Without warning, she launched a violent attack on him with a knife.
Umakant had no chance to defend himself and collapsed to the ground, bleeding profusely. Neighbors and family members rushed to his aid, but despite being taken to a nearby hospital, he was pronounced dead upon arrival. The news devastated his family, leaving them in deep mourning.
Forensic Investigation Underway
Following the incident, police from Bhuta station, along with forensic experts, arrived at the scene. They cordoned off the area and meticulously collected evidence, including blood samples and knife marks. The body was subsequently sent for autopsy.
Umakant's relatives filed a complaint against Anita Devi, leading to her immediate arrest. During questioning, she confessed to the crime, revealing that the ongoing land dispute had escalated to this tragic outcome despite previous attempts at resolution through community meetings.
Community Shocked by the Violence
The village of Mudi Khurdakala is now in shock following this violent act. Residents are struggling to comprehend how a family member could commit such a heinous crime. Local elders noted that while disputes over property are common, it is rare for them to result in such extreme violence. Many women in the village expressed their concerns, stating they would no longer allow their children near the accused's home.
