Tragic Family Dispute in Uttar Pradesh: Young Man Allegedly Murders Four Relatives

Gruesome Incident in Bahraich District

Bahraich: A tragic property dispute escalated into violence in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, where a young man is accused of murdering four family members with an axe and injuring his elder brother.

The violent episode unfolded in Ramnagar village under the jurisdiction of Rupaidiha police station on Sunday night. Authorities reported that the suspect, named Nirankar, allegedly attacked his father, mother, grandmother, and sister during a heated argument regarding family assets. All four victims succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

According to police sources, the conflict stemmed from a financial disagreement. Nirankar's father had recently sold a parcel of land, and Nirankar was reportedly demanding a portion of the proceeds. This disagreement quickly escalated into a violent confrontation.

Superintendent of Police (Rural) D.P. Tiwari stated that Nirankar attacked his relatives in a fit of rage using a sharp weapon. When his elder brother intervened after hearing the commotion, he too was assaulted and suffered serious injuries. Nirankar also sustained injuries during the altercation.

After the attack, Nirankar allegedly attempted suicide by striking his head against a brick multiple times, leading to significant blood loss and unconsciousness. Neighbors alerted the police, who arrived promptly and transported the injured to the district hospital. Due to his critical state, Nirankar was later transferred to a hospital in Lucknow for further treatment. He is currently in police custody as investigations continue.

Rakesh Singh, the Public Relations Officer for the Superintendent of Police, confirmed that the deceased have been sent for autopsy. A forensic team has collected evidence from the crime scene, including the axe used in the attack and a blood-stained brick.

A neighbor mentioned that the family comprised two brothers, their parents, grandmother, and sister, and there were no known disputes with anyone in the village.

"There were no conflicts with outsiders; it was strictly a family issue," the neighbor remarked. Villagers noted that the family was devout and had been preparing for a religious event.

In response to the incident, additional police and Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) personnel have been deployed in the village to ensure public safety. Authorities are thoroughly investigating the case and gathering statements from family members and neighbors to clarify the events leading up to the tragedy.

This incident follows another shocking crime reported on February 24 in Lucknow, where a 19-year-old allegedly shot his father over a career dispute and pressure to pass the NEET exam. Police indicated that tensions had been escalating between the father and son for some time.
