Tragic Factory Explosion in Ghaziabad Claims Lives of Two Workers
Incident Overview
In a tragic incident in the Sahibabad industrial area of Ghaziabad, a factory explosion during routine testing resulted in the deaths of two workers and left another seriously injured, according to police reports. Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Amit Saxena stated that the explosion occurred around 6 PM on May 7 at a factory located in the Link Road police jurisdiction, injuring several employees.
Victims Identified
The injured individuals have been identified as Imran (34), Tribhuvan (38), and Banke (25). Authorities reported that Tribhuvan was transported to Max Hospital, while Imran and Banke were taken to Safdarjung Hospital. Unfortunately, Imran succumbed to his injuries at Safdarjung Hospital, and Tribhuvan passed away at Max Hospital. Banke is currently receiving treatment.
Firefighting Efforts
Eight Fire Engines Deployed
The fire department quickly initiated a large-scale operation to control the blaze. Firefighters utilized multiple water lines to prevent the fire from spreading further. As the intensity of the fire increased, additional fire engines were summoned from Vaishali, Sahibabad, and Modinagar fire stations, totaling around eight fire engines involved in the operation.
After several hours of effort, officials successfully managed to extinguish the fire.
Search and Recovery
During the search operation following the fire, firefighters discovered the body of an elderly man on the ground floor of the building. He was later identified as 80-year-old Triloki Nath. The fire caused significant damage to the building and surrounding vehicles, with two cars and approximately ten motorcycles completely destroyed.
Authorities indicated that the AC service center is reportedly owned by Omkar Tomar. Police and fire department teams are currently investigating the exact cause of the fire.
