According to police reports, the blast took place inside a glass-lined reactor at Ankit Pulps and Boards Private Limited, located in Bhilgaon. The explosion was confirmed by a senior police officer around 11 AM. Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene to transport the injured individuals for immediate medical care. While the exact cause of the explosion remains unknown, authorities have initiated an investigation into the matter.


Injuries and Company Background

All injured parties are currently receiving treatment at a hospital in the nearby town of Kamptee, with one individual reported to be in critical condition. The company specializes in the production of microcrystalline cellulose (MCC), a substance commonly used in the pharmaceutical and food industries. MCC serves primarily as an excipient (binder/filler) in the pharmaceutical sector. According to the firm's website, they are engaged in the manufacturing of excipients for various pharmaceutical applications. This incident follows a previous tragedy on June 14, when a fire in a residential-commercial building in the Mahal area of Nagpur led to the deaths of two individuals due to smoke inhalation. A police officer indicated that the fire erupted during welding work in a warehouse located on the first floor of a flat in the Jay Kamal Complex near Gandhi Gate.
