On Friday, a devastating explosion occurred at a firecracker manufacturing and packaging facility near the village of Lambi in Sri Muktsar Sahib district, resulting in the deaths of five migrant workers and injuring approximately 27 others. Authorities are concerned that more workers may still be trapped inside the factory. Emergency response teams, including police and medical personnel, quickly arrived at the scene. Fatal Incident at Firecracker Factory


According to police reports, the explosion took place on Friday (May 30, 2025) at a firecracker manufacturing and packaging unit located on the Singhawali-Kotli road in the Lambi area of Sri Muktsar Sahib. The two-story factory employed around 50 workers. The blast occurred late last night, leading to multiple casualties.

Police Report


Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Jaspal Singh informed that four bodies have been recovered, and 27 injured individuals have been admitted to the hospital. There are fears that several workers may still be trapped inside the factory. Rescue efforts are ongoing.




DSP Jaspal Singh stated, "Late last night, a blast occurred at a firecracker factory... Approximately 50 laborers were working there... Four bodies have been recovered, and 27 injured individuals have been taken to the hospital." Sri Muktsar Sahib's Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Akhil Chaudhary added, "...The explosion caused the building to collapse, resulting in four fatalities. Rescue operations are in progress, and the injured are receiving medical attention..."
