Drowning Incident in Ganga River

In a heartbreaking incident in the Dokati area of Ballia district, three boys tragically drowned while bathing in the Ganga River. This information was confirmed by local police on Friday.


According to Mohammad Faheem Qureshi, the Deputy Superintendent of Police for the Baria region, the boys—Vinay Gond, Sandeep Gond, and Wasim—had set out on their bicycles from their homes to attend tuition classes. On their way, they decided to take a dip at the Ganga ghat in Jagdishpur village.


Unfortunately, while swimming, the trio ventured into deeper waters and drowned. Villagers alerted the police about the incident.


Qureshi stated that the police, with the assistance of divers, initiated a search operation, and the bodies of the three boys were recovered from the riverbank on Friday morning. The deceased were reported to be aged between 15 and 16 years.


Legal action has been initiated by the police regarding this tragic event.
