Tragic Double Suicide in Punjab Leaves Three Children Orphaned

Heartbreaking Incident in Patiala
Punjab: A tragic event unfolded in the Patiala district of Punjab, where a married couple reportedly took their own lives due to a misunderstanding. Reports indicate that the couple frequently argued, leading to emotional turmoil and ongoing conflicts. The situation escalated when 42-year-old Gurmeet Singh ended his life on July 3, believing that his wife, Manpreet Kaur, had fled with their three children.
Unbeknownst to him, Manpreet had already taken her own life days earlier, overwhelmed by the ongoing marital issues. According to police reports, she left their home on June 29 with their two daughters and a son following a heated argument. She drove the children to Gurdwara Jyoti Swarup in Fatehgarh Sahib, instructing them to continue on their two-wheeler while she would follow on foot. However, she never did.
On July 3, authorities discovered Gurmeet hanging in their home, while Manpreet's body was recovered from the Bhakra canal two days prior. This tragic misunderstanding has sent shockwaves through the local community, leaving their three children orphaned.
Another Disturbing Case in Jharkhand
In a separate and equally disturbing incident in Jharkhand's Giridih district, a young couple was found deceased in a forested area of Pirtand block. Police suspect they may have taken their lives after entering into a symbolic union. A box of vermilion was found in the young man's pocket, suggesting he may have applied it to the girl's forehead. Investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding this alleged suicide.
