Shocking Discovery in Lajpat Nagar

In a tragic incident in Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi, a 42-year-old woman and her teenage son were discovered murdered in their home on Wednesday night, according to police reports. The authorities have apprehended a 24-year-old former shop assistant, who allegedly committed the crime after feeling upset over a reprimand.

The deceased have been identified as Ruchika Sewani and her 14-year-old son, Krish Sewani, who was a Class 10 student. Ruchika co-managed a clothing store in the Lajpat Nagar market alongside her husband, Kuldeep Sewani.

Kuldeep Sewani contacted the police around 9:43 PM after failing to reach his wife and son multiple times. Upon arriving at the scene, he noticed blood stains on the gate and chairs outside their apartment, which was locked from the inside. A police team, led by the Station House Officer, forced entry and found the two victims.

The suspect, Mukesh, originally from Hajipur in Bihar, had been employed as both a driver and shop assistant at the Sewani family’s shop. He was residing in Amar Colony.

During preliminary interrogations, Mukesh allegedly admitted to the murders, claiming that Ruchika's recent scolding incited his violent reaction. The police are currently examining the details surrounding the incident, and the bodies have been sent for autopsy.
