Shocking Murder in Surat's Rander Area
In a disturbing incident in the Rander area of Surat, a young man fatally stabbed his wife due to suspicions regarding her fidelity. The accused, 25-year-old Sarfaraz Khan, works in the catering industry and had been married to Pooja Kumari for two years. According to police reports, their marriage had been strained recently due to Pooja's alleged involvement with another man, whom she referred to as her brother. Police Inspector R.J. Chaudhary stated that tensions escalated on Sunday when Pooja was seen leaving with a friend. Upon spotting them together, Sarfaraz reportedly lost control and attacked her with a knife, inflicting severe injuries to her chest, which ultimately led to her death. She was rushed to Surat Civil Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Medical Team Declares Woman Dead
Following the incident, a crowd gathered at the scene. Pooja was taken to Surat Civil Hospital in critical condition, but due to the severity of her wounds, particularly near her heart, she succumbed before reaching the hospital. Medical professionals confirmed her death after examination. The news devastated her family and those at the hospital. According to police, both individuals hailed from Bihar and were working in catering to support themselves. They were reported to be between the ages of 20 and 25. Pooja's parents also reside in Surat but were away in their village at the time. Initial investigations suggest that jealousy was the motive behind the murder.
Desperate Search Ends in Tragedy
During the interrogation, it was revealed that Pooja had been missing since March 16. Sarfaraz had spent the entire night searching for her. On Tuesday, when he found her with a friend, he acted out of rage and committed the murder. In a tragic twist, he used the same hand that had once exchanged vows with her to take her life. Inspector R.J. Chaudhary noted that Pooja had been living in Surat with her parents and family for several years. Currently, her parents are in their village, making it difficult to reach them. Sarfaraz, also from Bihar, had developed a romantic relationship with Pooja during their time working together, and they had been living as husband and wife for the past two years.
