In a disturbing incident from Tumakuru district in Karnataka, a 15-year marriage ended tragically with violence and suicide. In the Koratagere taluk, a husband attacked his nurse wife and subsequently took his own life. This heartbreaking event has left two innocent children without their parents. The deceased, Maruti, and his wife Nagamani were married for 15 years.

Maruti worked as a plasterer, while Nagamani dedicated herself to her career and secured a nursing position at a government hospital in Mysore after their marriage. According to local sources, her new job significantly altered her lifestyle, which contributed to tensions in their marriage.

Suspicion and Divorce Proceedings

Reports indicate that Nagamani wished to separate from Maruti and had initiated divorce proceedings. Meanwhile, Maruti harbored suspicions about his wife's fidelity, believing she was involved with another man. This mistrust led to frequent arguments, which escalated to the point of involving the local police.

Violent Confrontation and Tragic Outcome

On April 6, Nagamani visited to see her children, who were living with Maruti. During this visit, another heated argument erupted between the couple. In a fit of rage, Maruti attacked Nagamani with a sharp weapon, leaving her severely injured. After committing the act, he fled the scene.

Local residents quickly rushed the injured Nagamani to the hospital, where she is currently fighting for her life. The following morning, April 7, Maruti's body was discovered hanging from a tree in Doddanahalli. It appears he took his own life, possibly out of remorse or fear after the attack. This horrific incident has shocked the entire community. The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation. The death of the father and the mother's critical condition have left their two children orphaned.
