Tragic Domestic Incident in Delhi: Man Set on Fire by Wife
A Shocking Incident in Madangir
In a disturbing event that unfolded in the Madangir area of Delhi, a 28-year-old man named Dinesh Kumar experienced a horrific attack by his wife, Sadhana, while he was asleep with their four-year-old daughter. Dinesh, who works for a pharmaceutical company, seemed to have a stable life, but underlying issues with his wife had been escalating. The couple, originally from Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh, had been married for eight years, but their relationship had been marred by constant arguments and domestic disputes. They had been living in a rented accommodation in Madangir for several years, but everything changed on the night of October 2.
Around 3:15 AM, while Dinesh and his daughter were deep in slumber, he suddenly felt an intense burning sensation on his body. Upon opening his eyes, he was horrified to see Sadhana pouring boiling oil over him. The pain was excruciating, and as he writhed in agony, she further escalated the situation by sprinkling chili powder on his burns, threatening him to remain silent or face more severe consequences. Despite his attempts to suppress his cries, his screams were loud enough to alert the landlord.
The landlord, hearing the commotion, rushed upstairs. The door to their room was locked from the inside, and despite knocking, he received no response. He then called Dinesh's brother-in-law, Ram Sagar, while his daughter Anjali, who had also woken up, informed him that Sadhana had locked the door. Eventually, the door was opened, revealing a shocking scene: Dinesh was on the floor, writhing in pain, while Sadhana was nowhere to be found. When the landlord intervened, Sadhana claimed she was taking her husband to the hospital, which momentarily relieved everyone.
However, suspicions arose when Sadhana led Dinesh out of the house. The landlord arranged for an auto-rickshaw, but as they drove away, Anjali noticed that they were heading in the wrong direction, away from the hospital. The landlord quickly intervened, separating Sadhana from Dinesh and sending him alone to Madan Mohan Malviya Hospital. Upon arrival, doctors assessed his condition as critical, prompting a transfer to Safdarjung Hospital due to the severity of his burns.
The following morning, Dinesh filed a complaint with the police. Deputy Commissioner Ankit Chauhan stated that the incident appears to be the culmination of ongoing marital disputes. A case has been registered, and Sadhana remains at large as authorities continue their search.
