Tragic Domestic Incident in Delhi: Man Set on Fire by Wife
Shocking Incident in Madangir
In a harrowing event in the Madangir area of Delhi, a 28-year-old man named Dinesh Kumar experienced a nightmare while sleeping with his four-year-old daughter. Employed at a pharmaceutical company, Dinesh seemed to have a stable life, but underlying tensions with his wife, Sadhana, were escalating. The couple, originally from Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh, had been married for eight years, but their relationship was fraught with conflicts over trivial matters, leading to frequent domestic disputes. They had been residing in a rented accommodation in Madangir for several years, but everything changed on the night of October 2.
Around 3:15 AM, while Dinesh and his daughter were deep in slumber, he suddenly felt an intense burning sensation on his body. Upon opening his eyes, he was horrified to find Sadhana pouring boiling oil over him! His entire body was engulfed in pain. Despite his agony, Sadhana did not stop; she sprinkled chili powder on his wounds, intensifying his suffering. She threatened him sternly, saying, 'If you scream, I will pour more hot oil on you!' Dinesh, unable to contain his cries, screamed loudly enough for the landlord to hear.
The landlord, hearing the commotion, rushed upstairs. The door to their room was locked from the inside. He knocked urgently, and Sadhana's voice was heard, but the door remained shut. The landlord then called Dinesh's brother-in-law, Ram Sagar. Meanwhile, the landlord's daughter, Anjali, woke up and informed her father that Sadhana had locked the door from within. Eventually, the door was opened, revealing a shocking scene: Dinesh was writhing on the floor in pain, while Sadhana was nowhere to be found. When the landlord attempted to intervene, Sadhana claimed, 'I am taking my husband to the hospital.' Everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
However, the landlord grew suspicious. As Sadhana carried Dinesh outside, the landlord arranged for an auto-rickshaw. But as they drove off, Anjali noticed something amiss: Sadhana was heading in the wrong direction, away from the hospital! The landlord quickly intervened, separating Sadhana and placing Dinesh alone in the auto to take him to Madan Mohan Malviya Hospital. Upon arrival, doctors assessed his condition as critical. He had severe burn marks all over his body, his face was swollen, and he was in excruciating pain.
The following morning, Dinesh filed a complaint with the police. Deputy Commissioner Ankit Chauhan stated, 'This attack appears to be the result of ongoing marital disputes.' A case has been registered, and Sadhana is currently at large, with efforts underway to locate her. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
