Tragic Domestic Dispute in Banda: Policeman Attacks Family

In Banda district, Uttar Pradesh, a police vehicle driver allegedly attacked his wife and daughter with a sharp weapon during a domestic dispute on Wednesday night. Tragically, the daughter succumbed to her injuries while receiving treatment, as reported by a police official on Thursday.
Details of the Attack
Saurabh Singh, the police circle officer for the Baberu area, revealed that Gaurav Kumar, a 35-year-old constable working as a driver for the PRV number 5478 (Dial-112), attacked his wife Shivani, aged 32, and their three-year-old daughter Pari with an axe around 9 PM. Following the assault, he locked the door from the outside and fled the scene.
Response and Aftermath
Upon receiving a call from the landlord, the police arrived and rushed the severely injured mother and daughter to Banda Medical College for treatment. Unfortunately, the young girl, Pari, did not survive, while Shivani has been referred to Kanpur for advanced medical care.
Gaurav Kumar had been living with his wife and daughter in a rented room in Marka. The circle officer mentioned that during a search late at night, Gaurav's mobile phone and some personal belongings were discovered near the banks of the Yamuna River, but he remains unaccounted for.
