Tragic Discovery: Young Police Constable Found Dead in Odisha

Investigation Underway Following Constable's Death

In a heartbreaking incident, a 23-year-old police constable named Jasoda Das was discovered deceased in her quarters located in Balasore district, Odisha, on Tuesday morning, according to official reports.

Authorities found her hanging from a ceiling fan in her room, prompting immediate medical assistance. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead upon arrival at the district hospital.

Initial assessments indicate that her death may have been a suicide, potentially linked to ongoing personal relationship issues.

SP Raj Prasad noted, "Preliminary investigations reveal that she had been experiencing mental distress for some time, which could have contributed to her tragic decision. However, we are continuing our investigation into the matter."

Jasoda hailed from Mandarpur village within the jurisdiction of the Remuna police station. She had recently joined the police force in 2023 and was serving as a computer operator at the district police office.
