Investigation Underway After Gruesome Discovery

In a tragic incident in Kushinagar district, Uttar Pradesh, the body of a pregnant teacher was found mutilated near the railway tracks, approximately 100 meters south of a railway crossing in the Tarayasujan police jurisdiction. Authorities reported the discovery on Sunday.


The deceased has been identified as Pinky Gupta, aged 35. She served as an assistant teacher at a primary school in the Farenda area of Maharajganj district and was currently on maternity leave.


According to police, the body was spotted on the railway tracks after the passage of the Anand Vihar-Chhapra Express around 8 PM on Saturday, near the railway crossing in front of Bhuliya Agarwa village. Upon receiving the information, officers from the Tarayasujan police station arrived at the scene to identify the body.


Later, Ravindra Gupta, an assistant teacher stationed at the primary school in Mathia Shriram, arrived and confirmed the identity of the body as his wife, Pinky Gupta. He informed the police that they lived in a rented house in Salemgarh with his mother-in-law, Rajmati, and that Pinky was on maternity leave.


On Saturday, Ravindra had gone to a departmental training session at the BRC in Sevarhi. He attempted to contact his wife multiple times in the afternoon, but she did not answer. Upon returning home, his mother-in-law mentioned that Pinky had been in the room until recently but had suddenly disappeared.


After an extensive search, a missing person report was filed at the Tarayasujan police station. Late that night, they received the heartbreaking news that the body found on the railway tracks belonged to Pinky Gupta. According to police, Pinky’s maternal home is in Raipur village, located in the PP Ganj police area of Gorakhpur district, while her in-laws reside in Badka village in the Bhatparrani police area of Deoria district.


Station Officer Nitin Raghunath Srivastava stated that the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination. Further actions will be taken based on the autopsy report and other evidence collected.
