Tragic Discovery: Missing Woman Found Dead in Uttarakhand

Body of Missing Woman Recovered
Haflong, June 10: The lifeless body of 26-year-old Rosmita Hojai, who disappeared on June 5 while traveling to Delhi for a Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) exam, has been found along the banks of a river in Uttarakhand’s Pauri Garhwal district.
Authorities have sent her remains for a post-mortem examination, and an investigation into the circumstances of her death has been launched by the police.
Two suspects, Hemant Sharma from Mohindergarh, Delhi, and Pankaj Kokar from Rohtak, Haryana, have been taken into custody for questioning.
The two men had previously reported her missing at the Shivpuri Police Station, claiming she was swept away by the river.
Rosmita, a resident of Hojai village in Assam’s Dima Hasao district, last communicated with her mother on the evening of June 5, mentioning her intention to return by train—a remark that raised concerns among her family. Fearing for her safety, they began searching for her.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had previously assured Rosmita’s family of full support in their efforts to locate her. Authorities from both states are collaborating as the investigation unfolds.
