Mysterious Circumstances Surrounding Humaira Asghar's Death
The lifeless body of Humaira Asghar, a promising actress, model, and artist, was found in her apartment located in Defence Phase VI, Karachi, on July 8. This grim discovery occurred during an eviction process due to unpaid rent.
In a shocking development regarding her untimely demise, Sindh Police DIG South Asad Raza disclosed that her remains might have been in the flat for approximately six months.
DIG Raza noted that food items discovered in the apartment had expiration dates set for 2024. He mentioned, "The last messages retrieved from the actress's phone records date back to October 2024."
The last message from October 2024 implies that she likely passed away late last year. This aligns with comments made by stylist Danish Maqsood, who revealed he had sent a message to Asghar on October 20, which she never opened. He also observed that her WhatsApp 'last seen' was on October 7.
Further elaborating, DIG South mentioned that the final message on her phone was from an online cab driver, and the electricity supply to her apartment had been disconnected for an extended period.
Raza confirmed, "The actress's last interaction with her landlord was also recorded in 2024."
According to police reports, the apartment was secured from the inside, including the balcony door. Raza stated to a local news outlet that there were no immediate indications of foul play at the scene. Forensic teams were summoned, and Humaira's body was transported to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).
A day prior, police surgeon Dr. Summaiya Syed confirmed that the body was significantly decomposed. She indicated that while a post-mortem examination had been conducted, it was premature to determine the cause of death due to the advanced state of decomposition, which obscured any clear signs.
Dr. Syed also mentioned that DNA and chemical samples had been collected, with further details expected once the tests are finalized.
