Elephant Carcass Discovered in Nuakot Forest


On Saturday, a female elephant was discovered deceased in the Nuakot forest area, part of the Hindol forest range located in Dhenkanal district, according to sources from the Forest Department.


The elephant squad, who were on patrol, came across the carcass during their duty.


The precise reason for the elephant's death remains unknown at this time. Senior officials from the forest department, along with the veterinary officer from Hindol, arrived at the scene to perform a postmortem.


An investigation into the incident is currently in progress.
