Investigation Underway After Officer's Body Discovered
In a tragic incident on Sunday, the lifeless body of an assistant sub-inspector was discovered on National Highway 26 in the Kalahandi district of Odisha. The victim has been identified as Pabitra Golapi, who hailed from the Borigumma region in Koraput district and was stationed at the Bhawanipatna reserve police office.
Authorities also found Golapi's motorcycle, which had been completely burned, near his body in the Banamalipur area, as reported by Inspector Sesadev Behera of the Junagarh police station.
Eyewitness accounts suggest that Golapi's motorcycle collided with a parked truck, resulting in the fire, according to Behera. However, the exact circumstances surrounding his death will be determined through a thorough investigation.
A search operation is currently underway to locate the truck that fled the scene. A scientific team has been dispatched to gather evidence, and the investigation is being conducted from multiple angles. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination.
