Ghaziabad, May 22: Authorities discovered two deceased individuals in a flat located near DLF Bhagat Singh Chowk, as reported by local police on Friday.
The discovery was made at Flat B-1 S-2 after neighbors reported a strong, unpleasant odor coming from the apartment, prompting them to alert the police.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Dhawal Jaiswal stated that the police received the alert around 9:30 A.M. regarding the two bodies found in the Shalimar Garden police station jurisdiction. Officers promptly arrived at the scene, and a forensic team was summoned for investigation. Senior officials also conducted an inspection of the area.
The deceased have been identified as Rakesh Sharma, approximately 70-75 years old, and Nem Singh, around 55-60 years old.
According to the police, there were no visible signs of injury on the bodies, which appeared to have been deceased for two to three days. DCP Jaiswal mentioned that a field unit was dispatched to gather evidence, and both bodies were sent for autopsy, although initial assessments suggest natural causes of death.
Officials noted that both men lived alone and operated autorickshaws for income. Rakesh Sharma had been suffering from health issues and was largely bedridden, while Nem Singh seemed to have taken on the role of his caretaker.
Family members of the victims have been notified, and investigations into the circumstances surrounding their deaths are ongoing.
Stabbing Incident in Delhi
In a separate and alarming event, a mother and her young son were reportedly stabbed to death in their residence in the Govindpuri area of southeast Delhi. The police indicated that the assailant fled the scene with cash and valuables worth several lakhs.
Officials revealed that the suspect escaped after allegedly stealing between Rs 10–12 lakh in cash, along with gold and silver items. The Delhi Police have initiated an investigation and are reviewing CCTV footage from the vicinity to identify the perpetrator.
