Incident Overview

In Jajpur, Odisha, a tragic incident has unfolded involving the death of a 22-year-old engineer, Arjit Jena, who was reportedly beaten to death by the proprietor of a local crusher unit, as confirmed by police on Saturday.

Arjit, who lived in Jaraka, had been working at the stone crusher facility in Rahadpur for three months prior to the incident.

The situation escalated when Arijit's father, Ajaya Kumar, lodged a complaint with the Dharmasala police late Friday night, prompting an investigation.

Concern arose when Arjit’s mother noticed he had not contacted her on April 27, a break from his usual daily calls.

In a state of worry, she and a family member went to the crusher unit owner's residence, where they discovered Arjit severely injured. He was rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries on Thursday night, according to the FIR filed by his father.

Authorities have apprehended the owner of the crusher unit, Satya Narayan Dhal, while two other suspects mentioned in the FIR remain at large.
