Tragic Death of Woman in Varanasi Raises Questions About Domestic Abuse

Varanasi News: A relationship built on trust can turn tragic when it becomes a source of pain and fear. A woman, who tirelessly tried to save her marriage, ultimately paid the ultimate price with her life. This incident took place in the Jayaprakash Nagar colony of Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, where the suspicious death of a woman has raised numerous questions. The deceased has been identified as Shilpa Singh, originally from the Nandganj area of Ghazipur district.

Reports indicate that Shilpa married Prince Singh in 2019, who is employed on a contractual basis with the Varanasi Municipal Corporation. After their marriage, they lived together with their two children in Jayaprakash Nagar. Family members allege that Prince was an alcoholic and frequently assaulted Shilpa while under the influence. The situation escalated to the point where it reached the police and court on several occasions.

Previous Incidents of Violence

The family claims that Prince had previously attacked Shilpa with a knife. Despite this, Shilpa returned to her marital home for the sake of their children after each reconciliation. Recently, she had moved to Mumbai to stay with her father and was reluctant to return.

It is reported that Prince and his family promised to quit drinking and not ask for money from her parental home to persuade her to come back. They also mentioned plans to open a beauty parlor for Shilpa, which was set to launch on April 30. Tragically, before this could happen, Shilpa was found hanging in her home.

Allegations of Murder

Upon receiving news of the incident, Shilpa's cousin arrived at the scene and declared it a murder rather than a suicide. He stated that Shilpa had returned just 20 days prior at her husband's urging, and there had been ongoing disputes between the couple.

Following the incident, police arrived at the location, took possession of the body, and sent it for autopsy. Authorities have indicated that the true cause of death will be revealed once the autopsy report is available. Currently, the police are investigating all aspects of the case.
