A Disturbing Incident Unfolds

In a heartbreaking video that surfaced on social media, Srishti Kandari, a teacher from Uttarakhand, expressed her despair with the words, "Sorry, Mom... I'm leaving. I've endured this for the past six months. I can't take it anymore."

Srishti, who was found dead under suspicious circumstances on July 29 at her in-laws' home in the Harrawala area of Dehradun, had reportedly been facing ongoing harassment.

Following this tragic event, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has ordered a CB-CID investigation into the matter, as confirmed by BJP MLA Vinod Kandari from Devprayag. Allegations suggest that Srishti was suffering from mistreatment by her husband, Saurabh Khatri, and other family members.

Details of the Incident

The 30-year-old teacher mentioned in her video that she could no longer bear the mental anguish and stress caused by the abuse at her in-laws' home. According to police reports, she was discovered hanging in a room at her in-laws' residence on Wednesday morning. Her family rushed her to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Upon receiving information from the hospital, authorities initiated an investigation. The police have filed a case of dowry death against Saurabh Khatri, his mother Parveen Devi, and sister Charu, all of whom are employed at the Uttarakhand Secretariat. This action was taken following a complaint lodged by Srishti's mother, Seema Kandari, at the Doiwala police station.

Allegations of Abuse

Srishti was employed at a government school in Tehri district and had married Saurabh Khatri in November of the previous year. In her complaint, Seema Kandari alleged that her daughter had been subjected to both mental and physical abuse regarding dowry demands since the marriage.

She claimed that Srishti was consistently humiliated and referred to as 'unlucky' by her in-laws. Furthermore, the family allegedly blamed her for the recent death of a relative, asserting that misfortunes began after her marriage.

Seema Kandari has demanded the immediate arrest of Saurabh Khatri and his family members, accusing them of her daughter's murder.

Call for Justice

In response to the suspicious circumstances surrounding Srishti's death, MLA Vinod Kandari has urged for a thorough investigation. He reported that the Chief Minister has directed the state's Home Secretary to assign the case to the CB-CID for a detailed inquiry.

Kandari emphasized the need for a fair, transparent, and comprehensive investigation, highlighting the seriousness and sensitivity of the case.
