Tragic Death of Centurion University Student Sparks Outrage and Demands for Investigation

Suspicious Circumstances Surround Student's Death

In Chhatrapur, a student residing at Centurion University has tragically passed away under questionable circumstances. The individual, identified as D Purushottam Reddy, hailed from Lakshmipur village in the Chhatrapur block and was participating in the Odisha Skill Development Programme.

Purushottam's mother, D Tarinamma Reddy, has called for an investigation, asserting that her son was in good health prior to his departure for the hostel. She has lodged a formal complaint at the Chamakhandi police station, prompting authorities to initiate an inquiry. According to Tarinamma, she received a late-night call from the university, stating that her son was unwell and suffering from chest pain. He was subsequently transported to Chhatrapur hospital in an auto-rickshaw, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

As of now, the university has not provided any explanation regarding the incident. The family claims that university staff left the body at the hospital without assistance. A post-mortem examination was carried out on Wednesday, and police officials indicated that the precise cause of death will be determined once the autopsy report is available.
