Tragic Cylinder Explosion in Bengaluru Claims Life of Young Boy
Devastating Incident in Wilson Garden
A tragic incident occurred this morning in Central Bengaluru's Wilson Garden, where a 10-year-old boy lost his life due to a cylinder explosion. The blast injured nine others and caused significant damage to six nearby homes. The explosion happened in a densely populated area, leading to extensive destruction in close proximity.
Authorities suspect that a gas leak from the cylinder may have triggered the explosion. However, Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh stated that it is premature to confirm the exact cause of the blast.
The explosion took place in a residence occupied by a family of three. The mother and children were injured during the incident while the father was away at work. The fatality was reported from an adjacent house.
Karnataka's Chief Minister Siddaramaiah visited the site later in the day to offer condolences to the bereaved family. He confirmed that the victim was a boy named Mubarak and noted that no other serious injuries were reported from the explosion. All injured individuals are currently receiving medical care.
To support the victim's family, the Chief Minister announced a financial aid of Rs 5 lakh. Additionally, the government will cover the medical expenses for those injured in the incident.
Emergency services received the call about the explosion around 8:30 AM. Following the incident, the Bomb Disposal Squad, Anti-Terrorism Squad, State Disaster Response Force, and fire brigade were dispatched to the scene. The police have initiated an investigation, are clearing debris, and providing assistance to local residents.
