Details of the Explosion
The sudden blast caused significant damage to the factory, injuring several individuals. The injured were promptly transported to Silchar Medical College and Hospital, where four were pronounced dead. Preliminary investigations suggest that the explosion was triggered by an LPG cylinder used in the casting operations.
Government Response
Kaushik Rai, Assam's Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, visited the site to assess the situation. He announced that the Chief Minister has approved a compensation of five lakh rupees for the families of the deceased. Rai also mentioned that various agencies will conduct separate investigations to determine the exact cause of the explosion. He assured that if any negligence is found, appropriate action will be taken against those responsible.
