A significant incident occurred on Sunday evening in Sector 33 of Gautam Buddh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh. While workers were pouring concrete at a market under construction by the Noida Authority, the shuttering unexpectedly collapsed. This unfortunate event resulted in injuries to three laborers, including a woman, who became trapped under the debris.
Upon receiving news of the accident, local police and fire department teams promptly arrived at the scene. They worked diligently to clear the rubble and rescue the injured individuals, who were then rushed to a nearby hospital. Medical professionals reported that the condition of two of the injured workers remains critical.
Subodh Kumar, the officer in charge of the Sector 24 police station, provided details about the incident, stating that the construction contract for the market in Sector 33 was awarded to a contractor named Bablu. The accident occurred during the ongoing work on Sunday evening when the shuttering used for the concrete pouring suddenly gave way.
According to police reports, the injured workers have been identified as Sanjana Devi (35), Pyarelal (40), and Shivlal (37). The officer confirmed that contractor Bablu has been detained for questioning regarding the circumstances surrounding the accident.
