Tragic Collision on Purvanchal Expressway Claims Five Lives

In a tragic incident early Sunday morning on the Purvanchal Expressway in Amethi district, a collision between a pickup truck and an ambulance resulted in the deaths of five individuals, with one person sustaining injuries, according to police reports.
Authorities indicated that the accident occurred in the Shukul Bazar police jurisdiction when an ambulance transporting a deceased person from Haryana to Samastipur in Bihar allegedly attempted to overtake and collided with a pickup vehicle.
Station Officer Abhinesh Kumar confirmed that five occupants of the ambulance lost their lives, while another individual was critically injured and has been admitted to the district hospital in Gauriganj.
The deceased have been identified as Rajkumar Sharma, also known as Satish Sharma, Ravi Sharma, Phoolo Sharma from Bihar, and Sarfaraz and Abid from Haryana. The injured individual has been identified as Shambhu Rai, also from Bihar.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shailendra Kumar Singh stated that the ambulance was carrying the body of Ashok Sharma from Samastipur to Bihar, with two drivers and four relatives on board. The wrecked vehicle has been removed from the roadway, and the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examinations while legal proceedings are underway.
