Fatal Accident Involving Bus and Diesel Tanker

Hamirpur (Uttar Pradesh), August 5 - A devastating accident occurred on National Highway-34 on Wednesday evening, resulting in the deaths of three individuals, including the drivers of a state-run bus and a diesel tanker. The collision also left 21 passengers on the bus and four occupants of a car injured.

According to police reports, the bus, operated by the Mahoba depot, was traveling from Hamirpur to Mahoba when it collided head-on with the diesel tanker near Kundara village in the Sumerpur police jurisdiction.

The impact of the crash was so severe that both the bus and tanker drivers died at the scene. Emergency responders had to use cutting tools to extricate the bodies from the wreckage.

Among the 22 passengers injured in the bus, one succumbed to injuries during treatment. Authorities confirmed that the remaining injured individuals are receiving care at the district hospital. The bus also collided with a parked car post-impact, resulting in injuries to four people inside the vehicle.

Station Officer Pawan Patel stated that the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examinations. He also mentioned that three critically injured individuals are being transferred to Kanpur for advanced medical treatment.
