Fatal Motorcycle Accident Involving Police Constable

On Tuesday in Mangaluru, a young man riding a motorcycle tragically lost his life following a head-on collision with a car driven by a police constable.

Authorities have identified the deceased as Imran Mohammad Tah, a resident of Marnabelu. At the time of the incident, the vehicle was being operated by Constable Prasanna, who is assigned to the District Crime Record (DCR-1) unit in Mangaluru.

The impact of the crash was so severe that the motorcyclist was thrown onto the car's windshield before landing on the road, sustaining fatal head injuries that led to his death at the scene.

Witnesses allege that the constable fled the scene following the accident. However, bystanders reported seeing a bottle of alcohol and a police cap inside the car, leading to the recording of a video that subsequently went viral on social media.

In response to the video, Superintendent of Police Arun ordered an investigation. The police conducted an alcohol test on the constable in the presence of videographers and the deceased's family, but the results were negative. A blood test has also been ordered, and a case has been registered at the Pungalakatte police station.
