Fatal Accident in Lonavala

Early Saturday morning, a tragic accident occurred at the Lonavala hill station in Maharashtra, resulting in the deaths of two tourists from Goa. According to police reports, the victims were part of a group of 14 individuals who had traveled from Goa to enjoy a picnic in Pune district.


Authorities stated that a speeding car carrying the two tourists collided head-on with an oncoming mini truck near Lions Point in the hill station. An officer from the Lonavala rural police station mentioned, 'The accident took place early Saturday. Local residents discovered two individuals trapped in the severely damaged vehicle.'


The deceased have been identified as 21-year-old Yogesh Sutar and 24-year-old Mayur Vengurlekar, both residents of Mapusa, Goa. Police also reported that the truck driver sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital. Following a post-mortem examination, the bodies of the deceased tourists will be handed over to their families.
