Tragic Collision in Karnataka: Six Lives Lost in Devastating Road Accident
Fatal Road Mishap in Yadgir District
Yadgir: A devastating road accident in Yadgir district, Karnataka, resulted in the loss of six lives following a head-on crash between a car and a private bus on Friday.
The occupants of the car were tragically engulfed in flames, while two individuals were rescued by local residents. They suffered severe injuries and have been transported to a medical facility, with one in critical condition.
As per police reports, the incident took place near Devapur in the Surpur taluk, under the jurisdiction of the Surpur Police Station.
Initial investigations suggest that the car was en route from Yadgir to Raichur when it collided with a private bus traveling from Bengaluru to Kalaburagi.
The collision's force was intense, leading to an immediate fire that consumed both the car and the bus. All six individuals in the car perished at the scene.
Firefighters and emergency responders quickly arrived to extinguish the flames.
The Surpur police also reached the site to commence a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident. Further information is still pending.
Authorities are working to determine the precise cause of the crash, and the identities of the deceased have yet to be confirmed. Both the car and the bus were severely damaged in the fire.
In a similar incident on December 25, 2025, a private sleeper bus traveling from Bengaluru to Gokarna caught fire after colliding with a truck near Hiriyur in Chitradurga district, resulting in multiple fatalities. This collision occurred around 2:30 A.M. on National Highway 48, claiming the lives of at least six passengers trapped inside, while 28 others sustained injuries.
The victims included Bindu V, her daughter Grema, and friends Manasa, Navya, and Rashmi Mahale, who were traveling from Bengaluru to Gokarna. Additionally, the truck driver, reportedly from Uttar Pradesh, also lost his life in the incident.
