Tragic Collision in Bihar: Ten Lives Lost in Catastrophic Accident

Fatal Road Incident in Katihar District

Katihar: A tragic accident in Bihar's Katihar district resulted in the deaths of ten individuals and left 25 others injured after a bus collided with a truck and a pickup van on Saturday evening, according to a police spokesperson.

The incident occurred around 6:30 PM on NH-31 in the Kodha block, as reported by Superintendent of Police Shikhar Choudhary.

The occupants of the pickup van were reportedly traveling from the nearby Purnea district, and the bus driver also sustained serious injuries.

Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash, with initial indications suggesting that the bus driver may have lost control of the vehicle.

A statement from the district police confirmed that all injured parties have been transported to the nearest government hospital for treatment.

While early reports indicated that seven fatalities occurred, three additional victims later died while receiving medical care.

Officials are working to identify the deceased individuals, as stated in the police report.
