Fatal Accident Involving Truck and Passenger Bus

A tragic accident occurred in Balrampur when a truck collided with a passenger bus, resulting in the deaths of three individuals and leaving 24 others injured. Among the injured, six are reported to be in critical condition and have been referred to Bahraich Medical College for urgent treatment. This incident took place on the Fulwariya bypass, where a passenger bus (UP 22 AT 0245) traveling from Sunauli to Delhi was struck by a truck (UP 21 DT 5237) carrying warm clothing. The impact caused the bus to crash into a high-tension power line, leading to a short circuit and a subsequent fire in the vehicle.


The collision also ignited the truck laden with clothes, which firefighters managed to extinguish after considerable effort. Most passengers on the bus were from Nepal, and the whereabouts of the bus driver and conductor remain unknown.


According to police reports, the accident happened around 2 AM on Monday when the bus, filled with Nepali travelers, lost control after hitting a container and subsequently crashed into an electric transformer, resulting in a fire that claimed the lives of three passengers.


In addition to the fatalities, 24 other passengers suffered burns and were hospitalized. Due to the severity of six cases, those individuals were referred to hospitals in Lucknow. District Magistrate Vipin Jain confirmed that the injured are receiving medical care, while some with minor injuries are being sent back to Delhi and Nepal. Arrangements for transportation and tickets for the injured have been made, and the district administration is in contact with the families of the victims to provide necessary assistance.
