Fatal Accident in Ganjam District


In a heartbreaking incident in Odisha's Ganjam district, three family members, including a six-year-old girl, lost their lives when their motorcycle was struck head-on by an oil tanker on Friday, according to police reports.


The tragic event occurred near Digapahandi as G Trinath Reddy, aged 39, was riding with his two nieces, Barsha Reddy, 18, and Rudrika Reddy, 6, who were on their way to shop for new dresses.


Following the collision, the victims were rushed to the Digapahandi hospital, where they were pronounced dead by medical staff.


Barsha and Rudrika were visiting their uncle during the summer break and were set to return to their villages shortly, as per family sources.


PK Patra, the inspector-in-charge at the Digapahandi police station, confirmed that both vehicles involved in the accident have been seized.


The driver of the oil tanker fled the scene immediately after the crash, prompting authorities to register a case and initiate an investigation.
