Devastating Incident in Kishtwar District
Bhubaneswar: On Thursday, BJD leader Naveen Patnaik conveyed his sorrow regarding the tragic loss of life caused by a significant cloudburst in a remote village located in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar district, which resulted in at least 17 fatalities.
Authorities have indicated that the death toll may increase, with 65 individuals having been rescued thus far.
In a message shared on X, Patnaik expressed, “I am deeply saddened to learn about the tragic loss of so many lives due to the massive cloudburst in the #Kishtwar District of Jammu and Kashmir. My thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families during this challenging time, and I wish for a swift recovery for those injured.”
He further added, “We pray to Lord Jagannatha to provide strength to the families affected by this natural disaster, and we commend the rescue teams for their dedicated efforts in saving lives.”
