Fatal Incident on National Highway


Dalhousie: A tragic accident occurred on the Dalhousie-Pathankot National Highway in Chamba district, Himachal Pradesh, on the night of May 1, 2025, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to two others.


The incident took place near the Dawalu bridge, close to Banikhet, when the vehicle, a Maruti 800, lost control and fell into a gorge around 11:30 PM. The occupants were reportedly traveling from Banikhet to Lahad when the driver lost command of the car.



The vehicle was carrying four people, two of whom tragically died at the scene. The deceased have been identified as Mohinder Kumar from Tretha village and Ashok Kumar from Lahad village.


The injured individuals, Amit Kumar from Parihar village and Devraj, a mechanic from Junta panchayat, suffered serious injuries. They were first taken to the Civil Health Centre in Dalhousie for initial treatment and later transferred to Chamba Medical College for further care.
