Tragic Car Accident in Nashik Claims Six Lives
Fatal Incident in Nashik District
On Sunday, a tragic accident occurred in the Sapta Shring Gadh Ghat area of Nashik district, where a car plunged into a 600-foot deep gorge, resulting in the deaths of six individuals onboard, as confirmed by a police official.
The incident took place around 4 PM, and the victims were residents of Pimplagaon Baswant in the Niphad taluka.
According to the officer, all passengers in the vehicle succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
The Toyota Innova was carrying seven passengers, and the deceased have been identified as Kirti Patel (50), Rasila Patel (50), Vitthal Patel (65), Lata Patel (60), Vachan Patel (60), and Maniben Patel (70). Superintendent of Police Balasaheb Patil is overseeing the rescue operations.
Ongoing Rescue Efforts
Rohit Kumar Rajput, the local sub-collector and CEO of the District Disaster Authority, stated that rescue operations are underway with the deployment of police and district disaster management personnel.
Government Response
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed his deep sorrow over the incident, labeling it as 'extremely tragic.' He announced that the state government would provide financial assistance of five lakh rupees to the families of the deceased.
