Fatal Incident on National Highway

A devastating accident unfolded late last night on the Chamba-Pathankot National Highway close to Gandiar, where a vehicle fell approximately 400 meters into a steep gorge. This tragic event resulted in the deaths of two young men: Lakhan, aged 30, son of Manohar from Saru, and Ankush, also 30, son of the late Gyan Chand, who was likewise a resident of Saru. Both individuals died instantly.


The force of the crash was so intense that the car was utterly destroyed. Upon notification, the Dalhousie Police promptly arrived at the scene. DSP Mayank Sharma from Dalhousie oversaw the recovery efforts. The bodies of the deceased were retrieved and transported to Chamba.


Officials characterized the incident as extremely horrific, highlighting the perilous nature of driving on this hazardous mountain road.
